How big is Salamanca?
With a metropolitan population around 192,000 it is the second most populated urban area in Castile and Leon. About 30% of the population are students. Its cosmopolitan and friendly atmosphere provides a stimulating environment for learning Spanish and to experiencing Spanish lifestyle and culture.
How can I get to Salamanca?
The quickest and most direct way to travel is by plane to Madrid. Then there are buses and trains that leave from Madrid to Salamanca every hour from 7:00 to 22:00. The journey from Madrid to Salamanca takes approximately 2 and a half hours in which you will be able to enjoy the most varied countryside. You can also fly to Valladolid aiport. We offer the option of a direct and private pick up service from Madrid airport or Valladolid airport to Salamanca. You can easily book an airport transfer in our booking system.
How to get around Salamanca?
The city is not too big to see on foot, especially the main attractions, which are all quite close to one another. For slightly longer journeys there are taxis, and busses. Tickets are cheap, and you can buy them directly from the driver on board.
What's the weather like in Salamanca?
Located in central Spain, the climate in Salamanca is often described as moderate and continental, with hot and dry summer weather, followed by noticeably colder winters. Autumn and winter weather in the Salamanca area can be breezy, with occasional heavy showers, although sunny, dry weather is still plentiful at this time of the year.


Since when does the school exist?
We're teaching Spanish for more than 20 years already. We opened our doors in 1989.
Where are the students from?
Students come to Salamanca from all over the world (most of them from European countries) Germany, The Netherlands, Korea, Austria, United Kindom, Australia, Sweden, United States, Belgium, etc.
How big is the school?
Our school is small to medium sized. We always teach Spanish in small groups and we give students as much personal attention as possible. We have 7 well equiped class rooms and a library where you can borrow books, cd's and dvd's free of charge.
Is there Internet in the school?
We have 5 computers with Internet which you can use free of charge. There's also WIFI in the school building.


How can I know if there are still places available?
We can always guarantee availability if we receive your booking and down payment at the latest 2 weeks prior to the start date. If you want to start within 2 weeks, please contact us for availability.
Can I stay for just 1 week?
Yes, we are one of the very few schools in Salamanca which accept students for only one week (but your language course will be more successful if you stay longer).
When does the course start?
The course starts on the Monday of any week you wish (except for absolute beginners, check out the "courses" section for start dates).
Can I change the group if I feel that the level is not right for me?
Yes, then we'll have a chat with the teacher and look for the best solution for you.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes, on the last day of your course you will receive a certificate indicating the time spent at school, the progress made and the level achieved.
What's the class size?
The average number of students per class is 6, the maximum is 8.


What is the distance between accommodation and the school?
All accommodations are within a 15 minutes walking distance of the school. Bed sheets are available, but you should bring your own towels.
Can I change my accommodation if I´m not satisfied?
Yes, as long as we have something similar available and when you have a reasonable motivation.
Is there a washing machine in the accommodation?
Do I need bed linen for the shared apartments?
No, bed linen is provided but you should bring your own towels.
When can I first get into my room, when do I have to leave?
Arrival day is the Sunday before you course starts and departure day is the Saturday after the end of your course.
Could I arrive some days before the beginning of the course?
Only as an exception and in case we have rooms available. If not, we can recommend you a hostel for these extra-nights.

Enrolment and payment

Can I book for next week?
In order to guarantee yourself a place in one of our courses and accommodations, you should enrol at the latest 2 weeks before the first day of the course. If you would like to start within 3 weeks time or less, please contact us and we can check if there
How can I book a course?
You can book clicking the 'book' button. Now follow the steps of the booking system. For support you can call us between 9.00h and 17.30. Or you can send an email with the request to call you at a time that suits you best.
How does the payment work?
You pay a down payment of € 100 to Lingua during your enrolment. We accept credit cards, bank transfer, paypal, etc. The remaining amount (course, accommodation and airport transfer) has to be paid on the first course day at the school.
How do I receive a confirmation?
You will receive a confirmation of your booking by e-mail. Then you will have access to a personal lingua page where you can find all information necessary.


Do you take care of the flight?
You should book your own flight. We can give you advice about good or cheap airlines to Madrid or Valladolid. Please contact us for inquiries.
What is an airport transfer?
You can book the airport transfer ahead. An employee of the school will pick you up at the airport and drive you to your accommodation or directly to the school. You can find the price under the section "prices".
